Underlake

Floor Three

A large, sprawling room three thousand feet long and one thousand feet long. One entrance drops in from the second floor, and another is a tunnel that directly attaches to the outside cove. On the outskirts of the room is a myriad of tunnels, caves, and other passages. The water is dark and murky, constantly moving, with a kelp forest in the middle and a crushing hole hidden in its depths. At the end is a den and a rising tunnel that flattens out into a sunning platform and the exit.

Boon from Mayalle, Goddess of Whirlpools.

In the cove entrance, a whirlpool is born, dragging invaders towards the center of the room. It forces everyone within it to fight against its current or be moved, and it doesn't allow for easy escape.

Flora

Bloodline Kelp - Uncommon - Schema

  • It grows in massive forests that have no limit, with every strand connected by a greater awareness. Endlessly it grows, searching to overtake the oceans it exists in, and the forest never forgets those who attack it.

  • Amber-gold, willow-like leaf fronds, covered in gas bladders to help float. Grows endlessly both upward and outward.

  • No known evolutions.

Green Algae - Common - Schema

  • It grows without the need of sunlight but instead only water, and even then it consumes little. Excess water spills over its interconnected webs, creating an oasis for hungry creatures.

  • Small, bright green, stringy, and often covered in water. Very similar to Earth's algae.

    • Variant: small pearls of bioluminesnce grow within the algae, casting a pale green light.

  • Evolves into Thornwhip Algae.

Fauna

Armourback Sturgeon - Uncommon - Schema

  • This creature has grown tired of a life as prey and forgone fear entirely—though it starts off small, its scale plating grows so thick that nary an attack can damage it, allowing it to grow exponentially, unfazed by mortal worries.

  • Three feet long and constantly growing. Covered in plated, overlapping scales, including the base of fins. A pale grey with silver highlights. Head shaped like a shovel.

  • Evolves from Silverhead.

  • Evolves into Armoured Jawfish.

Greater Crab - Uncommon - Schema

  • Grown much larger than its primitive cousins, this powerful beast uses its pincers of differing sizes to both hold its prey and rip them apart, feasting on the remains. Its armour is enough to protect it from all frontal attacks, and its multi-purpose limbs allow it to retreat should the need ever arise.

  • Four feet in diameter. Stocky, emerald green carapace, ten leg. Large pincers, left one larger and built for crushing.

  • Evolves from unknown lesser crab.

Mimic Jellyfish - Uncommon - Schema

  • It sits, lashing its tentacles to the ground below, and waits for unwary fools to wander closer. If creatures fall prey to its web of tendrils, they retract once they are full, keeping the population up to feast again later.

  • Transparent with the ability to change colours. Large bell with dozens of tentacles around ten feet long below.

  • No known evolutions.

Roughwater Shark - Common - Schema

  • It never stops swimming, hunting evermore for more prey to stave its insatiable hunger. To protect itself, it rubs again stone walls to sharpen its skin, preventing anything larger from stopping its hunt.

  • Thirteen feet long, mottled grey and white, large fins with black tips. Black eyes, enormous mouth, hundreds of jagged teeth.

  • Evolves into Rammerhead Shark and Moray Shark.

Royal Silvertooth - Rare

  • As blood commands, so too does royalty. Leading a school with tyranny and fear, it terrorizes its territory and lets no other dare intrude on that which they claim as their own.

  • Five feet long, streamlined, small silver scales. Pale and translucent fins. Dagger-esque teeth. Deep scarlet eyes.

  • Evolves from Silvertooth.

Sarco Crocodile - Exotic - Schema

  • In ages old and past, it hunted beasts many times its size to sustain its own growth. Its enormous fangs and mana-attuned bulla were too efficient, however, and it culled its prey to extinction and so passed itself. But once more it has been unleashed.

  • Thirty-five feet long, immensely bulky, covered in grey-green scales like platemail. Tail like a battering ram, asymmetrical lump on the tip of its nose, hooded eyes.

  • No known evolutions.

Silverhead - Common - Schema

  • Thick of skull and small of mind, these fish gather in massive schools for protection. What they can’t flee from they bash with their thickly scaled skulls, often ending more of their own lives than they defend.

  • Half a foot long. Covered in silver scales, with dark fins and a white underbelly, and one large scale over the front of their head similar to a helmet.

  • Evolves into Armourback Sturgeon, Silvertooth, and Electric Silverhead.

Silvertooth - Uncommon - Schema

  • Using numbers over size, this creature gathers hundreds of its fellows to create massive schools, swimming peacefully until their blood-frenzy is activated. It will only calm down once its prey is dead, ripping ecosystems apart until its hunger is satiated.

  • A foot long, wide and bulky. Large dorsal fins with spikes. Red fins and eyes. Protruding teeth like broken glass.

  • Evolves from Silverhead.

  • Evolves into Royal Silvertooth.

Silver Krait - Uncommon - Schema

  • Evolves from Luminous Constrictor.

  • Two feet long, bright yellow with black and grey stripes, narrow mouth, wide cheeks. Dark eyes.

  • No known evolutions.
